Engagement Shoot Info

Engagement Shoot Information:

Dress Code:  I encourage and prefer casual (jeans or other comfy bottoms) because the idea is to get comfortable with pictures and have fun.  If you never dress down and insist on dressing up, please keep in mind if you wear a dress that is knee length or shorter, it will limit the number and types of poses, candid shots and activities we can do to make your interactions special and your photos interesting.  If you do wear a short dress, please wear shorts or spanks underneath so you can bend over, squat and/or sit without worrying about it.

Dark shoes, sandals, or leather shoes is a must. no white tennis shoes on either unless you are doing a sports theme.

Solids are better than patterns because patterns tend to detract from your face..  If you must have a pattern, stay away from stripes, dots, circles, checks, plaids or anything geometric.

You do not need to be "matchy matchy" twins with your attire, but put some thought into what works together with colors and styles.  If one goes casual, both should be.  If one dresses up, both should be.

***Please bring a pair of slip on walking shoes for outdoor locations.  Sometimes surfaces are uneven and downright dangerous if you choose to wear heels, wedges or platforms.

***Makeup should be MATTE FINISH ONLY!  No bronzer, no mineral finish, no metallics or pearl, no glow, no dewy finish, no glitter.  If you want a little sparkle, a little pearl eye shadow under the eyebrow works well, but keep all other glowy/pearl/bronzer combinations off the cheeks, cheekbones, nose, forehead and face area.

Why?  Mineral & dewy finishes, metallics and bronzers reflect light back at the camera.  This makes the skin look sweaty and shiny under many lighting circumstances.
