Makeup applied
for photography and makeup applied for any other purpose are
not necessarily the same. If you are not planning on hiring
a professional makeup artist (although it is advised), here are some
tips to help you.
1. Make sure face is thoroughly cleansed
and moisturized before applying makeup.
2. Use a matte
foundation with a matte powder finish. If you use a glowy or
dewy foundation or finish, your skin will appear sweaty and oily in
the photographs.
3. Stay away from makeup (especially
lipstick) which either has a metalic sheen or is heavily frosted.
Models in Vogue can get away with metalics because they
are in studios where every angle and color of light is controlled.
If you use a metalic or heavily frosted lipstick, there is no way
around it, you will look like the tin-woman in the photos.
4.
If you are hiring a makeup artist, do a trial run before the day of
your wedding. If your makeup artist asks if you want a dewy
finish, RUN! The Cottage Facial and Body Spa specializes
in photography makeup. 520-319-9044
5. Don't forget
your man! Make sure your man has a little powder compact for
emergencies. If he cuts himself shaving, the powder will stop
the bleeding almost immediately and cover the redness!
6.
Bring baby wipes or Shout wipes. These products will remove
makeup out of dresses and clothing if an accident occurs. Test
a small area first to ensure the wipe will not discolor your specific
fabric.
